Dennis Dewey, Utica amateur filmmaker, has released his first feature film, 2051: The Return Project, a cautionary drama set in the not-too- distant future about the experience of the first BCI (brain-computer interface).

Set in the year 2051, the film tells the story of first "replication" or download of a human brain and neural network to digital storage. The scientist-candidate whose brain is download "awakens" to find himself in a strange, unwelcome world to which he has difficulty adapting despite having signed a "pre-mort" (like a prenup) precluding any possibility of "pulling the plug." His surprise resolution to his existential dilemma serves as the film's climactic conclusion.
