Our Historical Theater’s New Look – Renovation 2019

As most of you all know by now, we began planning a massive 1.5 m renovation of our Independent and Historic Theater in 2018.  We broke ground in early May 2019 and opened our doors in October 2019.

It was quite the undertaking and we hope you have been able to come in and enjoy our new amenities, streamlined spaces, handicap upgrades, sound upgrades and our new design that keeps the Historical feel of our Opera House built in 1895.

We couldn’t have done this with out the generosity of Colgate University.  We are so thankful to their appreciation and support of the arts on our village.  It goes on to serve so many from our local and regional patrons to all those that visit from many corners of the Earth.

We would also like to thank the Hamilton Initiative team that worked tirelessly through many complications to make sure we could bring the best possible version of the theater to you all and stay on our time line.  Special thanks must go to Joanne Borfitz, Amanda Eaves, JS Hope, Liam McDevitt, Peter Lawrence, James Wunderlich, The Village of Hamilton and Mayor Ruth Anne Loveless, Joe Eakin, Howard Powell and the incredible staff that is always ready to serve the community.
