Educational Programs

Teachers, Program Coordinators, Administrators: Bring your group to the Hamilton Theater – for FREE!

Thanks to generous grants to the Hamilton Theater’s Educational Programming Fund, your class, student group, or school organization is invited to take advantage of the area’s only independent movie theater to meet your program needs. We’re eager to hear from you and how we can help!

Here are some ideas that area schools have already initiated:

The Hamilton Central School PTO hosted Family Film Night, with free admission for elementary school families and a selection of three movies.
Morrisville-Eaton Central School seventh graders earned a special theater program as a reward for leading all other grades in the school’s holiday food drive.
~ Student film makers from Camp Fiver premiered their original work on the big screen, the culmination of a film workshop!
Elementary school classes from several area schools scheduled special film screenings to supplement their reading of a book (e.g. Holes, Because of Winn-Dixie) or as a feature of their study of a topic (e.g. The Pianist) as part of an exploration of the Holocaust.
~ A drama group brought the cast and crew to watch the video of their School musical on the big screen.

Have a different idea? Great! Hamilton Theaters is a community resource with three screens and a limited stage area for presentations and speakers. The theater may be just the right venue for your special program.

Thanks to the generous grants from the Hinman Foundation, your school group may be able to host your special program or event at the theater at no cost. Voluntary contributions to the fund are welcome and will help other school groups to enjoy a similar experience.

A trip to the theater is a great way to reward students for outstanding performance, to supplement classroom work, to enjoy seeing your own video on the big screen – or just to have fun! Call to let us know how we can help at (315) 824-8210.
